Mega Evolution plays a significant role in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, following its absence from the main series for nearly ten years. It was first introduced inPokémon X and Y – which take place in the Kalos region, home to Z-A's Lumiose City – allow fully evolved Pokémon to temporarily advance further through Mega Evolution, drawing upon ancient power with the support of a caring trainer.
Legends: Z-A reintroduces the mechanic, and to utilize it, you must have a Mega Stone. Not all Pokémon can undergo Mega Evolution, but each one that can requires holding a particular Mega Stone to do so — for example, a Garchomp needs a Garchompite, and a Lucario requires a Lucarionite.

If you chose Totodile as your starting Pokémon, AZ will provide you with the Feraligite along with your Mega Ring during the game's storyline.
If you chose Chikorita or Tepig as your initial Pokémon, the Feraligite can be bought from the Stone Emporium located on Vernal Avenue, south of the Vernal Pokémon Center. It becomes available after the game ends and the credits have finished rolling, and it costs 100,000 Poké Dollars.
